Baby twins of Savita Manohar Shinde, a 6-day-old boy and girl, were born prematurely at 32–33 weeks with low birth weights of 1.54 kg and 1.53 kg respectively. Both babies are currently admitted to the NICU at Mala Newborn and Children Hospital, Thane.
Due to their premature birth and low birth weights, both babies require continuous NICU monitoring, medical care, medicines and investigations. The doctors have estimated a NICU stay of around 10–15 days, with total expenses of approximately ₹6 lakh, including hospital, medicine and investigation charges.
