Baby boy of Kavita Shubham Kolekar, born on 19 August 2026, is an extremely premature baby weighing only 660 grams. He is currently admitted in the NICU at NICE Advanced Neonatal Care Centre and Children’s Hospital, Kolhapur, and is suffering from Extreme Preterm Birth (EPT), Extremely Low Birth Weight (ELBW), and Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS). He requires surfactant treatment, oxygen/ventilator support, blood investigations and continuous NICU care. Doctors have advised another 6–7 weeks of NICU treatment, with an estimated expense of ₹6,50,000. The family is struggling to manage the treatment expenses.
